Happy new year everyone!
Krixware is proudly releasing 0.1.90 of the FreeKE engine.
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=164830&package_id=186723&release_id=447623
It is the currently the fastest engine with a compile time increased. Based on a benchmark, a 2MB KS file would compile 2 minutes before — now it will take just about 2 seconds and start running in 1-3 seconds.
It also had a lot of bug-fixes. Errors on negative values assigned to String-equations, to a value of 0 equating to true with “string-values”, to CHR-10 parsing, to checking status of looped WAV sound-buffer, to setting height of Screen (N/A to Quixie), to setting Array vars, to compile-related bug, to out-of-bounds Array-related bug.
This bug fixes would not be fixed if not detected and reported by concerned individuals. Thank you very much.
We added two new functions:
* Screen:GetFPS – which does as it says.
* Draw:Image – to be used for drawing images on an image-buffer. Just the right function to integrate the image-file into KS source. Use the latest BMP2KS to sample out the usage.
Don’t worry Linux-box users, Quixie was updated (in case, you didn’t notice).
But it really need to catch up with FreeKE. Calling on developers with expertise with FreeBASIC. Game developers are also welcomed.
Tools were also updated:
Tutorials on KonsolScript are now available at Game Programming Wiki.
PS : We are calling for some wiki-editing folks out there. The KonsolScript article on Wikipedia has been tagged with many different ones. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KonsolScript
We, honestly, did not know that self-publishing is prohibited in Wikipedia; we saw other articles on FOSS porjects started and maintained by the corresponding FOSS developers — our apologies to the administrators.
